The GOPredator party power has pooped and now the infighting over who gets to wear Frodo's Ring of Power rages within the Democratic party. Knives are out as people who gave up the ghost for all these years suddenly see they can be the Rulers! Of course, Dean, one of the architects of this stunning victory, is being targetted by a bunch of losers.
The headline in Time Magazine is 'Democratic Victory is GOOD for Bush.'
By Jonathan Alter
Newsweek
Updated: 4:39 p.m. CT Nov 8, 2006Nov. 8, 2006 - As President Bush admitted in his post-election news conference, he and the GOP took a “thumping” at the polls Nov. 7. And he didn’t look happy about it. His joshing first line to reporters—“Why the glum faces?”—reflected his underlying belief that “liberal” reporters should have been smiling instead of downcast like him.
But after the sting is gone, Bush may begin to understand that the “thumping” was a blessing in disguise—a way for him to yet salvage something of his presidency, both at home and abroad. He began that process by firing Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, the first step toward regaining the initiative on Iraq. And the dividends for Bush of the Democratic victory may keep paying off for the rest of his term—and in the history books.
This is quite tedious. No matter what happens, it is 'good for Bush.' No matter how many humans die hideous deaths, this is all good for Bush! No matter how ugly a campaign is, if Bush wins it is good and if he loses it is good! Gads.
Alter gets paid for this sort of silly tripe. Why don't they pay me to say dumb things? Or am I disqualified because I am not terminally stupid?
A PUTSCH AT THE DNC?:Some big name Democrats want to oust DNC Chairman Howard Dean, arguing that his stubborn commitment to the 50-state strategy and his stinginess with funds for House races cost the Democrats several pickup opportunities.
The candidate being floated to replace Dean? Harold Ford.
Says James Carville, one of the anti-Deaniacs, "Suppose Harold Ford became chairman of the DNC? How much more money do you think we could raise? Just think of the difference it could make in one day. Now probably Harold Ford wants to stay in Tennessee. I just appointed myself his campaign manager."
AIPAC is pissed off as all hell. They hate Dean. Therefore, I love Dean. Yah, team! Corporate masters are dusting off their donkey statues and are now slithering over to the Democrats to take over, offering money, money, money! Just sign away the soul!
If this is how our party will run, run away! There will be nothing for us as all the money men and money women strive to destroy our Party, to turn it aside from us and redirect it towards their needs, their desires, their demands!
And they demand attention or they will continue to unleash their paid whores and dogs upon us and these monsters will hound anyone supporting things we want out of the public realm for nothing infuriates them more than Americans getting what they need.
This obviously infuriates me. The need for money so it can be spent on buying media time which then goes into the pockets of the same people who attack anyone running for office who doesn't buy time from them...see that nasty circle!
It is exactly why we need campaign finance reform: no more money for the media. They must set aside free time for candidates. And the Fairness Doctrine must return so if an army of right wing whores yell nonstop, we get to answer them! HAHAHA.
I used to go on TV in NYC doing this long ago! I tracked issues and when TV yappers talked about them, I would call and ask for time to reply. It was just fantastic.
Now, I run a crappy blog. Well, we better start pushing the DNC to pass the Fairness Doctrine. It is more important than anything, anything.
"I run a crappy blog"
No you don't.

Just a feeble jab at being sardonic, sin, heh.

I was going to look into the Fairness Doctrine and write about ti. I don't know if I'll have time.
One R-wing argument against it that the government by virtue of imposing fair rebuttal requirements is in the business of regulating free speech, a violation of the First Amendment.
They care so much about the First Amendment, it's touching.
There are people who believe that Chris Matthews and Tim Russert are examples of the liberal media. Compared to Jiang Qing, I suppose.
The media conglomerates and telecoms bought Clinton and Gore for a time, I am sorry to say. No way this set of Democrats will push to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine.
They may not have to, however. If the banking system collapses - or another hedge fund blows up - interesting propaganda in the Economist recently and I'll try to blog about that one - the people may storm the broadcast booth.
These politicians are all too dirty and too indebted. Maybe this is the turning point, though.
I am so frigging sick of corporatist America ...

Yup. All sorts of strange things happen when money becomes worthless.
