Aux Barricades! The International Criminal Court is accusing the President of Sudan of being a war criminal. Will wonders never cease? To the guillotine with that Muslim! Ah! And we must hunt down Bin Laden for bombing US wedding parties while we are at it. The comedy of European and American imperialists committing grotesque war crimes over and over again, torturing, maiming, destroying, killing poorly armed civilians in many parts of the world with utter impunity: they get to go scot free, of course. But if any Muslim even fights back like say, the Palestinians, they are declared terrorists and outlaws. This farce will play to the bitter end when the Chinese end up executing our own leaders for war crimes.
Sudan head accused of war crimes
Sudan's president has been accused of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes in Darfur by the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court.
Luis Moreno-Ocampo told judges at The Hague that Omar al-Bashir bore criminal responsibility for alleged atrocities committed over the past five years. The three-judge panel must now decide whether there are reasonable grounds for an arrest warrant to be issued.Sudan's government responded by saying any indictment would be meaningless. "We don't recognise whatever comes out from the ICC, to us it is non-existent," Foreign Ministry spokesman Ali al-Sadig told Reuters news agency.
This is beyond ridiculous. The US President and his flunky, Powell, lied to the UN about 'Weapons of Mass Destruction.' After the UN disarmed Saddam, the US kicked over the barriers and attacked Iraq, killing many hundreds of thousands innocent, often civilian Iraqis. We then let the country fly apart in chaos and many more hundreds of thousands were killed. We now have chopped the country into small bits and are putting up huge ghetto walls that mimic the walls the Jews are surrounding Muslim and Christian Palestinians.
The invasion of Iraq which was supposed to be a discovery mission to find 'WMD' turned up exactly nothing. This made the mass bloodshed a war crime. Even the flimsy excuse that the Iraqis were not allowed any weapons to defend themselves was proven a total fabrication on the scale of Hitler's lies about Poland in 1939. We executed the Germans for these war lies.
No, this court is just another chapter in, 'It's OK for US to commit war crimes' written by the triumphalists in the US government and Britain. It's OK to drop a novel, totally destructive bomb on unsuspecting civilians in an undefended Japanese city or two! It's OK to carpet bomb Dresden or North Vietnam. It's OK to use chemical warfare in Vietnam and Iraq. It's OK to starve civilians during surrender talks with Germany after WWI ended. Etc, etc. Either we totally define 'what is a war crime' and then hang the VICTORS or we throw this garbage out the door and admit, 'Might is Right, BWAHAHAHA. Total Evil Rules! We're Number ONE!'
After launching the League of Nations, Britain and France strapped on their guns and proceeded to invade all the remaining fragments of the Ottoman Empire. The ferocious battles killed many people and in one sector, they opened up the land to European invaders who had a set program of ethnic cleansing of all the natives who were to be removed and replaced with European and American Jews. I believe that the ICC is against ethnic cleansing, eh? NO!
It's OK to ethnically cleanse if one is a rich member of the ruling empires of Europe and the US. There is NO CRIME on any international books concerning the great empires! They have one set of rules which is, 'Your land is my land, it's not your land, from sea to sea, all we see is our land.' If the ruling elites of Europe and America spot some country they wish to invade, dominate, torture, murder and starve, they have the green light. Just like disarmament is for weak countries while the empires get to increase military power and nuclear menaces.
At the BBC, virtually all the comments have been, 'When is the ICC going to arrest Bush and Blair?' Which is the correct question. ARREST THEM ALL! While we are at it, we can raid the tombs of all the great imperial rulers and hang them in effigy. And then haul out the guillotine and start knitting as it chops, chops, chops away.
The history of the establishment of the International Criminal Court (ICC) spans over more than a century. The “road to Rome” was a long and often contentious one. While efforts to create a global criminal court can be traced back to the early 19th century, the story began in earnest in 1872 with Gustav Moynier – one of the founders of the International Committee of the Red Cross – who proposed a permanent court in response to the crimes of the Franco-Prussian War. The next serious call for an internationalized system of justice came from the drafters of the 1919 Treaty of Versailles, who envisaged an ad hoc international court to try the Kaiser and German war criminals of World War I. Following World War II, the Allies set up the Nuremberg and Tokyo tribunals to try Axis war criminals. In 1948, the United Nations General Assembly (UN GA) adopted the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide in which it called for criminals to be tried “by such international penal tribunals as may have jurisdiction” and invited the International Law Commission (ILC) “to study the desirability and possibility of establishing an international judicial organ for the trials of persons charged with genocide.” While the ILC drafted such a statute in the early 1950s, the Cold War stymied these efforts and the General Assembly effectively abandoned the effort pending agreement on a definition for the crime of aggression and an international Code of Crimes.
Just reading the thumbnail history of this despicable organization of imperial brats makes me ill. My father testified at the Nüremberg trials. He then went home and helped create the CIA, work on the nuclear missile system, and in general, was part of the New Death Machine. During the following years, the US and Russia both blew off several hundred nuclear bombs that polluted the entire planet with toxic wastes that created the following cancer crisis that we are STILL in! Thanks to modern medicines, we are surviving this horror somewhat better. But it should have never happened. If we were punished for using nuclear bombs on civilians, the temptation to develop nuclear bomb systems that were aimed from high orbits to slam into whole cities and annihilate everyone, this would have not developed into the MAD program.
Obama: Iraq's timetable demand 'an enormous opportunity'
CNN) -- Sen. Barack Obama, in an op-ed piece in Monday's New York Times, embraced Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's recent call for a timetable for American troops to leave Iraq as "an enormous opportunity." The presumptive Democratic presidential nominee's column, titled "My Plan for Iraq," repeated his pledge that "on my first day in office, I would give the military a new mission: ending this war."Obama wrote that U.S. troops would be redeployed from Iraq to "focus on the broader security challenges that we face" and that "unlike Senator McCain, I would make it absolutely clear that we seek no presence in Iraq similar to our permanent bases in South Korea."
Ending the Iraq war is necessary so that the United States can focus on Afghanistan and Pakistan, "where the Taliban is resurgent and Al Qaeda has a safe haven," he wrote.
"Iraq is not the central front in the war on terrorism, and it never has been," he wrote.
Yikes! To go from Iraq to Pakistan? PAKISTAN HAS NUCLEAR MISSILES. Talk about stupid. And Afghanistan: we backed a bunch of evil warlords who sell opium and have now flooded the West with heroin. This, in turn, is now putting many at risk here, risk of addiction, jail, and murder in gang warfare. And we are losing in Afghanistan because we are a bunch of drug dealing thieves, not saviors. If we were at all serious about morals, we wouldn't be bombing wedding ceremonies or terrorizing shepherds in the mountains there! Not one Afghani was involved in 9/11. When the Afghanis demanded proof of their mendacity, the US went to the UN and LIED and said we would force Israel to recognize Palestine as a country and hand back to them, half of what used to be their homelands.
So the UN voted to let us invade UNDER FALSE PRETENSES. This is a war crime. Arrest everyone involved, ICC. Now. Including the heads of the UN. And the entire Security Council. Arrest everyone and haul out that guillotine. Chop-chop!
There is no sanity at all in this country. We still want to bomb mountain herders in central Asia? Good grief. And we want to condemn China for suppressing anti-Han riots in Tibet. That was a no-no! Maybe the Chinese should bomb wedding parties in Tibet instead? As I recall, there were no jets or assassin drones roaming Tibet, dropping bombs or zapping peasants.
Iran, Gazprom set to sign cooperation memorandum
RIA Novosti) - Russian energy giant Gazprom [RTS: GAZP] and Iran's Ministry of Petroleum will sign on Sunday a memorandum of cooperation in the oil and gas sphere, an Iranian deputy oil minister said."Interaction between Iran and Russia in all spheres and especially in the energy sphere is very wide. We expect to further broaden this cooperation in the future," Hossein Noghrehkar Shirazi said.
This is one wedding party the US and Israel can't bomb. Both would dearly love to bomb it but that would launch WWIII. So they sit and grind teeth instead. The UN promise to the poor Palestinians who are the victims of illegal ethnic cleansing sponsored by Britain and the US still is without any justice. But the wheels of History are turning and the mill is grinding the US/UK pretensions into a fine, white bone demon dust.
Here is what Congress is doing today:
H.RES.984
Title: Expressing support for the designation of July 26, 2008 as "National Day of the Cowboy".
Sponsor: Rep Giffords, Gabrielle [AZ-8] (introduced 2/13/2008) Cosponsors (52)
Related Bills: S.RES.450, S.RES.482
Latest Major Action: 6/12/2008 House committee/subcommittee actions. Status: Ordered to be Reported by Voice Vote.
Whoopee! Cowboy Day! Let's celebrate the mass murder and ethnic cleansing of the Wild West! This bill is so full of irony, it weighs a ton on History's scales. The US celebrates the crushing of the stone-age tribes of North America as the successful invasion launched by the Europeans nearly totally wiped out all humanity in the New World. This shameless display is in stark contrast with the huffing and puffing over the civil war in the Sudan. In this war, both sides are nearly equally armed which is why it is ongoing. The President of Sudan can't just wipe everyone out like say, President Jackson did to the Cherokees. Or at least, he tried. The Cherokees did survive the Trail of Tears...barely....and managed to eke out a living in the wastelands of Oklahoma where oil was discovered and then the joys of gambling casinos cinched the deal. Now they are getting richer and want some justice. Eh?
Arab MK continues to anger Israeli diplomats who run into him at Paris conference:
Tibi's presence at the convention, which was attended by more than 40 leaders and dozens of foreign ministers, angered the Israeli leaders taking part in the event.
A senior source in the Israeli delegation said, "It is unthinkable that an Israeli Knesset member appears here and walks around with the Palestinian delegation and other Arab delegation. He should decide who he is representing."
A senior diplomatic source who ran into Tibi in the corridor said, "I have no idea who this man is serving, why he walks in and out and brings different officials to the Palestinian delegation. Is someone paying him? What is he getting in return? He is an Israeli MK working for the Palestinians. This is an awful thing in my opinion."
*snip*
"I am here with writers, parliament members from other countries and intellectuals who have not been invited as part of a delegation. This is what my badge says, an independent member. I am sick and tired of people saying I am a member of delegations. I am not a member of the Palestinian delegation."
He said he has been meeting with representatives of multiple delegations. "I met with the Palestinian delegation, I met with the Lebanese, I met with the Qatari representatives, I met with Gordon Brown of Britain, with Miguel Moratinos of Spain, with Mark Ott of the European Union."
Tibi stressed that he plans to continue meeting with the Arab representatives at the conference. "I'm meeting with the Palestinians tonight, I will meet with them tomorrow as well, and I will continue to meet with them.
"My acts will not be censored. I won't have anyone to fault me because of this. We won't let those who want to narrow our moves and say that I am a member of the Palestinian delegation to do so. I am independent and I am here as the chairman of United Arab List-Ta'al in the Knesset," he said.
Yet another chapter in the goofy story, 'Utter clueless brutality from the wealthy, powerful Jews seeking to utterly destroy the Palestinians'. This can be filed under the charges of the 'ethnic cleansing' warrants of arrest. Since this dirty project is the sweetheart of many powerful media owners as well as government officials, well...we hung the editors of Nazi newspapers at the Nüremberg Trials.
Time to sharpen those knitting needles.

What are you guys smoking there?
Millions of home owners are facing foreclosures.
Fannie, and Freddie gone belly up, Washington Mutual is to be added to this list too.
The Paulson rescue is not getting any traction.
Dollar gone lower still.
The world of ziocon is collapsing around their ears, and these #&%$wits have all of you debating yet another war?

Um, WWIII will be the solution to the housing collapse. I kid you not. All empires in trouble end up rushing to war. They can't help it. First of all, it keeps the troops far from the capital where they might spearhead an insurrection, just for example.

Would Washington set a timetable if the Green Zone government demanded it? That is the million dollar question. The answer does not lie in Baghdad, however, but in the streets of the United States. No matter who wins the US election in November, there will be no US withdrawal from Iraq or Afghanistan unless the antiwar majority makes its presence known in those streets. That is where the status of US forces in those countries must ultimately be decided.
So no huff and puffs and analysis get on with claiming your rights!

Israel's Shin Bet counter-intelligence agency said one of the suspects had used his mobile phone to film helicopters at a sports stadium in Jerusalem that was used as a landing site for Bush's delegation.
The suspect then posted queries on Web sites frequented by al Qaeda operatives, asking for guidance on how to shoot down the helicopters, the agency said in a statement.
